Zonta Club of Springfield, Illinois
The young women in Public Affairs Awad Program was established in 1990 and is open to young women aged 21 or under who are currently enrolled in secondary school. The program is designed to encourage women to pursue careers and leadership positions in public affairs, public policy and community organizations. Applicants are asked to reflect on their lives, their commitment to the communities in which they live, and the role models that have inspired them to become involved in the community or in a specific prospective career.
The Zonta Club of Springfield will award $300 to the winner from Sangamon County in the state of Illinois. This winner will then compete in the District Competition for an award of $500. The District winner will then compete internationally for a $1000 award.
