A few of
Brittney’s musical venues & history!
*
Brittney Jo has taken many classes from Mike over the
years. She loves his stories, and you can see lots of Mike in how She handles
an audience. Since
Brittney was 7, Mike Anderson has tutored her.
*
The
two weekends of the Spoon River Drive are some of Brittney’s
most
favorite times. She loves the people, and sharing her music.

Another
music venue for her is the Dulcimer week at WCU in North Carolina.
This
is a week devoted to mountain dulcimer, and old time music. Along with jam
sessions till the early morning. With some of the best people you could ever play music with.

excellent. Great sound and a nice stage. The Producer and Stage crew are some
of the best in the business. Hickory

This site has offered New musicians a venue to play music
to visitors to the park. Brittney’s music has entertained many people here over
the years. There are Blue grass
festivals here along with Mike Anderson’s story telling festival.
This park sets back off the bluffs of the Sangamon River
valley.
It is a wonderful place to just go, and relax the day away. Many people come just to see the history of these hills, and the Abraham Lincoln site.

And
The Dulcimer Shop “ Mc Spadden Dulcimers”
This is where we first met some of the most infuential
dulcimer players in America. These turned out to be, just common folk that
seemed never to have met a stranger. Aubrey
Atwater
took Brittney by the hand, and told her how much she loved
the stage performance. That the 10 year old had given on the open stage.
Audrey has had a big effect on Brittney’s music, and many times
Brittney would talk of Aubrey. How she wished we could go to performances where
Aubrey was playing. So, as the story goes, we did. Many times we would drive
many miles to see Aubrey
Atwater and Elwood Donnelly. This is one of the best stage
shows you can ever go to see. Listening to Brittney sing, or play her music you
can hear her mentors in the music.
*
Gebhard Woods Dulcimer Festival
A 3 day week end festival with dulcimer classes for all
ages. Brittney loves this venue as it has many of her mentors as staff.
*
Dale Evans of Bloomington,IL.
Dale is Brittney’s claw hammer banjo instructor. He builds
dulcimers in Central Illinois, and he also handles books and accessories
for many instruments. Dale is also a member of the Allen Street String Band. Which plays some fantastic Old
Time music.
*
The Gateway Dulcimer Music Festival (Formerly The Great
River Road Festival)
This is a 3 Day festival
that has been held each year at Pere Marquette State Park, in the Lodge area.
This is a wonderful venue, clean air and loads of Old Time music. Also very
nice pool, spa and sauna. J
This site is 45 miles north of St. Louis,
Missouri, on the Great River Road, Illinois Rt. 100.

Stephen
Seifert, Mountain
Dulcimer Performer and Instructor , DVD with
student’s guide for Mountain Dulcimer. This is a
wonderful session that Brittney and myself watch as often as we can. This
instruction is worth the cost. I have taken many classes for the dulcimer.
Steve’s DVD sessions get you where you need to be. Lots more rapidly than other
books or lessons can. This is a must have.
